Located at 425 California Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94306, Lotus Thai Bistro operates as a thai restaurant serving Palo Alto in California. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it. Besides its main category, the business also describes itself as asian restaurant, caterer, southeast asian restaurant, so it may cover more than the name suggests.

Portion sizes and pricing swing widely across this group, from a $10 lunch bowl to a multi-course tasting menu at an upscale sushi counter, so checking recent reviews and photos is more useful than the price range alone. In Palo Alto, dinner reservations for popular izakaya, hot pot and Korean BBQ spots fill up on Friday and Saturday nights, so booking ahead or arriving at opening is worth it. Many restaurants across California run daily lunch specials on weekdays that are not listed on the dinner menu, so it is worth asking. Halal, vegetarian and gluten-free options vary a lot by kitchen; call ahead if you have a dietary restriction rather than assuming the menu will note it.

Love Lotus Thai Bistro! The pad see ew is my favorite, but also love other classics like Pad Thai and the Pineapple Fried Rice. I’ve ordered in, taken out, and worked with their team for catering for work events as well. A wonderful business and restaurant!

Even though there are many Thai restaurants in the Bay Area, it is hard to find an authentic one. Even if you find one, its quality may drop over the years. This is not the case with Lotus Thai though. I ate here first time in 2011. And 15 years later. Yes, FIFTEEN years later. The restaurant still stands serving people throughout pandemic and it is as good as ever. I remember ordered food here for Thai festival in Stanford and it is such a crowded pleaser. At the same time, you can request authentic taste from the shop owner Ta if you want to get a real taste. I went to the restaurant again a week ago. All dishes we got: duck basil, hor mok (steamed seafood curry), and moo ping (grilled pork), are outstanding. I don't think I need to say much. Just come and try!

We recently moved and California avenue is probably the most convenient place for take-out. We decided to try some Thai food from Lotus Thai and sadly were pretty disappointed. The dishes we got weren't nearly as good as several Mountain View Thai places that we've gone. Not terrible, but just not really to our liking. We'll definitely try other Thai places instead the next time we're in the mood.

Best Thai food ever! *Please support small biz! Please call to order directly so they don’t have to pay ridiculous fees w door dash or whoever… The display was beautiful, but I didn’t catch a photo till it was too late, so please excuse the pics here for not effectively resenting all the TLC they put into making the presentation and delicious taste and quality of the food! The order: chicken pad Thai (peanuts on the side!), fresh rolls (vegetarian with an amazing sauce!), pumpkin curry, brown rice, samosa. It was really nice to have so many gluten free and vegetarian options so everyone was satisfied! We had about 15-20 people. Everyone had seconds and had enough leftovers to take home, too. Well worth the price and everyone is grateful for quality leftovers! Thank you Lotus Thai Bistro in Palo Alto! Our expectations were well exceeded!
